This week marks the beginning of the new year in the Chinese calendar. Traditionally the event is celebrated with dragon dances, fire crackers and family gatherings.

Sadly this year the celebrations will be more muted, even in Newcastle’s celebrated China Town where the many fabulous Chinese restaurants remain closed.

Year of the Ox

February 12th 2021 ushers in the year of the Ox. Those born under this sign are said to be honest and hard working, kind, rarely lose their temper, think logically and make good leaders.

It is suggested those born in the year of the Ox will be stable financially and able to enjoy a comfortable retirement!

Help is at hand

Those of us born under other zodiac signs may need some help to achieve that level of stability. In which case this week’s Thursday Talk Online with Matthew Ife is precisely what we need!

Matthew is a Financial Planner and qualified Accountant with over 13 years’ experience in financial services.

To join the online event at 6pm on Thursday 11th February, email events@jesmondlibrary.org for your invitation.
