It’s been five months since we were forced to close and we’ve missed you all.

But now we’re opening our doors again. We’re taking it slowly. Small steps, finding a way to keep our users and our volunteers safe.

For the last three months we have provided a ‘click and collect’ loan service. This will continue. So if you want a particular book let us know and we’ll get it ready for you to pick up at the door.

Two weeks ago we welcomed back the People’s Network Computer users, and the photocopier and scanner has been available.

But now comes the biggest step. As from Tuesday 18th August you will once again be able to come inside the Library to browse the shelves and choose your own books.

You will notice some changes. Our volunteers will be there to explain the new procedures which are to keep everyone safe. Please be kind and courteous to them.

Wear a mask!

Most importantly, please wear a face covering and use the hand sanitiser provided when you come inside.

We will take contact details for track and trace purposes.

Be prepared to queue as only a small number can be allowed in at any one time.

If you handle a book but decide not to borrow it, please place it in the ‘quarantine’ box provided. (It will be reshelved after 72 hours.)

There are restrictions to our usual services. Sadly we can’t yet provide a sitting area. The coffee machine is out of use. There are no newspapers to read. All the toys have been put away. And only the ground floor toilet will be accessible.

The Library will be open between 2-4pm on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

We’re really looking forward to seeing you again. Welcome back!
