Jesmond Library’s popular Creative Writing Competition is now open!

Entries are invited on the theme of ‘The Midnight Hour’.

All forms of creative writing are welcome – last year we received short stories, scripts and poems.

Pick up your pens (or power up your laptops) and wow us with your writing. We can’t wait to see where your imaginations will take us!

If you know anyone who may be interested please encourage them to have a go. (Sadly we had no entries last year in the teen category, so this year we would particularly welcome writers from that age group.)

The entry fee is £3, with all proceeds to the Library.

Entry forms are available to collect from the Library. There are four age groups:

Adults: 1500 words

Under 18: 500 words

Under 13: 500 words

Under 5: 100 words

The closing date for entries is 11th January 2020. The winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony in May 2020, followed by readings of all the winning entries.
