A welcome for every Matilda (and Matt!)
Matilda must be the fictional world’s most famous bookworm. First published 30 years ago, the story is still widely loved today. Roald Dahl’s eponymous heroine visited her local library everyday!
Jesmond Library also welcomes children. Here is a reminder of some of what is available for our younger members and visitors – and it’s not just books!
We’d also love to welcome more older children and teenagers too! Please encourage your children, grandchildren and neighbours to visit us. We’ve recently been gifted a selection of newly published books in the Teen category, including graphic novels.
Here’s how every Matilda and Matt can get more out of the library!
Always on offer
Story and song event – 10am every Tuesday (term-time)

Books, of course!
