We’re now in the final week of the Community Festival. All over Jesmond exciting things have been happening, with many organisations, venues and people all taking an active part.

NUJO

Jesmond Library has played host to a number of excellent events, whilst our volunteers have kept the library open for normal business.

Storiella and Axum

We’ve had music: jazz from NUJO; folk by Storiella and Axum Folk Ensemble; and the talented young musicians and choir of West Jesmond Primary School.

A House Through Time

We’ve learned a few things: student insights; the first working class MP; uncovering local history; Pre-Raphaelite collectors.

We’ve been competitive: awards for the best Student Garden and best Handkerchief Garden. Children’s book reviews have been collected.

And it’s not over yet! Still to come at the library this week we have circle dancing, advice on planning ahead and a seminar on urban sustainability.

Ongoing is the Teddy Bear Trail (closes 4th June) and the ‘Year In Jesmond’ photographic competition (closes 28th September).

You can check out all Festival events, both those at the library and elsewhere, on the Festival Website , or call into the library to pick up a leaflet.

Come and feel the buzz!
