This year our library is hosting various community drop-ins on Fridays, giving Jesmond residents  the opportunity to have any queries answered.

The sessions that we are hosting include:

Police Drop-Ins

On Friday 9th, we had our first of three scheduled police drop-ins.

This event was a success and we had residents coming in with a variety of important questions for the officers.

Our next drop-ins will be taking place on the 6th February and 6th March between 10:30am and 11:30am.

If you are passionate about issues affecting the local area, why not pop in and meet the policing team?

Healthwatch Drop-Ins

If you are in need of any information about local healthcare, then we are providing drop-in sessions on the 13th February and 13th March between 10:30am and 12pm.

This is a welcoming environment that will provide free, confidential and independent information about healthcare services.

If you have any questions regarding these drop-ins, do not hesitate to email info@healthwatchnewcastle.org.uk and you can visit their website: healthwatchnewcastle.org.uk

Newcastle Stop Smoking Service Drop-In

If you are trying to quit smoking this year, why not head to Newcastle Stop Smoking Service’s drop-in session on the 20th February.

This will take place between 9:30am and 12:30pm, providing advice and encouragement to those looking to give up nicotine.

Newcastle Stop Smoking works in partnership with the NHS, promoting healthy lifestyle choices across the city.

The Wise Group HEAT Team Drop-In

On the 27th February, members of the Wise Group will be visiting our library between 9:30am and 12:30pm. The Heating and Energy Advice Team (HEAT) focuses on supporting people who are struggling with rising energy costs. They provide practical advice, help with managing bills, and guidance on financial support — ensuring no one has to choose between heating their home and putting food on the table.

We know many of your service users may be concerned about the months ahead: higher energy bills, growing debt, or even the risk of disconnection. That’s where partnership makes a real difference. By working together, we can make sure people get timely, practical support when they need it most.”

All of these drop-in sessions are free to attend and open to anyone in our community. Our library provides a welcoming environment for you to come and ask questions and get support.

More information on these drop-ins can be found on the What’s On section of our website.
