Thursday Talk – Stan Laurel on Tyneside

Although born in Ulverston, Cumbria, Arthur Stanley Jefferson spent his formative years living in North Shields,
a period which he called “the happiest days of my life”, and a place where he formed many ideas for his “gags”. The talk will look at Stan’s later visits
to Tyneside with his equally world famous partner Oliver Hardy. We will look at Stan’s wives, and explore his private life, and his relationship with his many fans all
over the world.
