We recently hosted two  workshops for Year 5 students from Newcastle Preparatory School, introducing them to sustainability, interior design, and the history and future retrofit plans of Jesmond Library.

These innovative sessions were part of the RIBA Architect Ambassador Scheme, led by architect volunteer Despoina Papadopoulou with assistance from Ifigeneia Dilaveraki, another talented architect specializing in engaging children’s activities.

Students enthusiastically explored creative ideas for integrating sustainable practices and greenery within the library, alongside imaginative and colourful interior decoration schemes. The amazing artwork produced by the children will  be exhibited at the library soon with dates to be announced shortly.
