What Gift Aid means for Jesmond Library

Last year we received an extra £2,400 on top of the donations given by our kind supporters.

It was due to the Gift Aid scheme, where the Government gives back 25p of every £1 donated to charities by individuals, from the tax they paid the previous year.

Many of our regular donors use Gift Aid already and we’d like all those who are eligible to join too.

As long as you pay enough tax to cover Gift Aid on all the donations you pay to charity each year, you are eligible.

All you need to do is fill in one of our Gift Aid declaration forms available in the library – just once will cover all the donations you may make in the future to Jesmond Library. If you donate through our Just Giving pages, the Gift Aid is a matter of ticking the box and we can claim the extra cash.

Every £1 donated is increased by 25p thanks to Gift Aid

Simple – and such a help. Our income from individual donations is incredibly important in keeping your library open, warm and welcoming. It enables us to do more, and do better, for Jesmond residents. And Gift Aid is a very valuable boost to that income.

October 3 has been designated Gift Aid Awareness Day – so please help spread the word.
