We are already challenging budding and established writers. Now we have something for the artists among you.

The Library is asking you rise to a new challenge to keep yourselves busy in these strange times. As with the Creative Writing we will post a theme or suggestion every week and we would like you to send an image of your work to enquiries@jesmondlibrary.org

Le petit dejeuner’ by Max Pechstein

This can be a drawing, painting, collage or whatever else you fancy.

When the library reopens we will hold an exhibition showcasing the best original works so make sure you keep your entries safe. When emailing your images please indicate your age group (under 6, under 13, under 18 and over 18) and please let us know whether we can post your images on social media.

The first challenge was ‘The breakfast table’ and your entries to this are still welcome.

This week’s challenge is ‘room with a view – view from a room’.

If you want to borrow some art-themed books from the Library for inspiration or to help with technique, check the Library catalogue and then order your chosen book using the Click & Collect Service.

Get busy and we look forward to seeing your entries.
