We are delighted to have played an active part in the highly successful Jesmond Community Festival 2019 which came to an end last week.

The Library played host to university lecturers but also to teddy bears. We were entertained by jazz musicians as well as folk artists. We welcomed the youngsters of West Jesmond Primary School and (slightly older) university students and some folks who are perhaps even a little bit older again! We looked back into history but also forward to the future.

There has been something for everyone – which is exactly as it should be! As a community hub we aim to be relevant to all the many and varied people who make Jesmond the vibrant place it is.

We also want our book stock to reflect that diversity. If you think we are missing out on anything, if there is a particular book you think would be a useful addition, please let us know.

You can email us enquiries@jesmondlibrary.org or call into the library and speak to one of our volunteers.

And, as June is Pride Month, one of our current displays is a reminder of just some of the many fabulous LGBTQ writers and their contribution to literature. Do pop in and take a look.
