I“Si hortum in bibliotheca habes, nihil deerit.” Marcus Tullius Cicero

A garden in a library

Our table display this month focuses on gardening.

It includes a selection of just some of the wonderful gardening books we have available at Jesmond Library.

We’re sure Cicero would approve.

Poetry in the Orchard

This week, be inspired by Cicero and take the library out into the garden!

As part of the Jesmond Festival you are invited to listen to and share Italian Poetry and Music in the Jesmond Community Orchard on Wednesday 15th May.

Handkerchief garden

The following Tuesday, 21st May, we’ll be bringing the garden back into the library when the Jesmond Gardens Competition awards will be presented.

Come and share Cicero’s philosophy on the simple things in life – books and a garden.

Sounds like bliss.
